How to connect a custom domain?
With Socialscale, you can publish your storefront or experience on a Socialscale subdomain or connect your own custom domain.
Connecting a custom domain allows you to use your own branded URL (for example, creators.yourdomain.com) while Socialscale handles hosting, SSL, and updates automatically.
Publish your Creator Platform
Before connecting a domain, make sure your project is published.
- Create your Creator Platform in Socialscale
- Click Publish to ensure your creator platform is live.
Once published, your project is ready to be connected to a custom domain.
To connect a domain you already own (for example from Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.), follow the steps below.
Step 1: Enter your domain in Socialscale
- Go to Creator Platform in your Socialscale dashboard
- Select Connect custom domain
- Enter your domain name (for example: creators.yourdomain.com)
- Socialscale will generate the required DNS records
You’ll see two DNS records that need to be added at your domain provider.
Step 2: Configure DNS records
Log in to your domain registrar (e.g. Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap) and open the DNS settings for your domain.
Add the following records exactly as shown.
1. SSL verification (ACME challenge)
This record is required to automatically issue and renew an SSL certificate.
Type | Name / Record | Target |
|---|---|---|
CNAME | _acme-challenge.yourdomain | yourdomain.com.007a6270f4e6fac4.dcv.cloudflare.com |
⚠️ Do not proxy this record (if using Cloudflare, keep it DNS only).
Step 3: Main Domain Mapping
This record connects your domain to Socialscale.
Type | Name / Record | Target |
|---|---|---|
CNAME | your domain | customer.socialscale.ai |
If your DNS provider does not allow a CNAME on the root domain, make sure:
- There are no existing A or AAAA records for the domain
- The domain supports CNAME flattening (Cloudflare does)
Common DNS provider guides
Most domain providers allow DNS changes under Domain Settings → DNS Records.

Confirm and activate
After adding the DNS records:
- Return to Socialscale
- Click Save
- Socialscale will automatically verify the domain and issue SSL
DNS propagation usually takes a few minutes, but can take up to 24–48 hours in rare cases.
Once completed, your project will be live at your custom domain.
Troubleshooting
If your domain does not connect:
- Double-check there are no conflicting A or AAAA records
- Ensure the CNAME targets are copied exactly
- If using Cloudflare, confirm records are DNS only, not proxied
- Wait at least 30 minutes before retrying
