Turn Shopify customers into creators

Your best creator prospects already bought from you. Here's how to find them in Creator Recruitment and invite them into your Creator Hub.

Requires first

The easiest creator to recruit is someone who already loves the product enough to have paid for it. If you're on Shopify, Socialscale surfaces those people for you automatically — this workflow turns that list into invited creators.

Step 1: Connect Shopify

If you haven't already, connect Shopify via Settings → Integrations. This does double duty: it's also what syncs your product catalog into Product Center (see Sync Your Product Catalog). Once connected, your Shopify customers start appearing in Creator Recruitment automatically, tagged with source "Shopify."

Step 2: Review your Contacts list

Open Creator Recruitment. Each contact shows their spend, order count, and country where available, alongside contacts you've added manually. This is your prospect list, not your creator list yet — nobody here has a storefront or is tracked as a creator until you invite them and they accept.

Pro tip

Sort by spend or order count first. A customer with multiple orders has already shown loyalty to the brand — they're a warmer invite than a first-time buyer, and usually convert to an active creator at a higher rate.

Step 3: Invite

Click Invite on a contact to send them into your Creator Hub sign-up flow. They move from "Contacts" to "Invited," and once they complete sign-up, to "Accepted" — at which point they show up in My Creators with an active storefront, exactly like anyone who joined through your public sign-up link.

Note

Inviting a contact doesn't guarantee they join — this is an outbound invite, not an automatic enrollment. Expect a normal response rate, and don't be afraid to invite in batches rather than one at a time.

Step 4: Decide how much friction their sign-up has

If you're inviting in volume, revisit your Creator Hub Approvals settings — manually reviewing every accepted invite works fine for a handful of people a week, but becomes the bottleneck once you're inviting dozens of past customers at once.

Pro tip

See Automate Creator and Post Approvals for when to flip auto-approve on as recruitment scales.

Why this beats cold outreach

A customer-turned-creator already knows the product, already has an opinion about it, and already has an audience that's at least adjacent to your buyers. Compared to recruiting strangers off a creator marketplace, this list converts faster and needs less briefing — they're not learning the product, they're just getting paid to talk about something they were already going to mention anyway.

Next: get them producing

Once accepted creators are in, the next step is usually activating them in a collaboration so their storefront links get real attention.

From an empty Creator Hub to paying your first creator: recruit, onboard, activate a collaboration, and let Socialscale handle the payout.
