Sync your product catalog with Product Center

Connect Shopify or add products manually so every downstream feature — scoring, storefronts, campaigns — has something real to work with.

If Configure Your AI Workforce is step one, this is step one-and-a-half — and it's the one most teams under-invest in. Product Center is your synced catalog, and almost nothing else in Socialscale works at full strength without it: no products means no product-fit scoring, no storefronts for creators to sell from, and no clean attribution when a sale happens.

Option 1: Connect Shopify

Go to Settings → Integrations → Shopify and choose Manage shops. Connecting Shopify does two things at once: it syncs your product catalog into Product Center, and it feeds Creator Recruitment with your customer list (see Turn Shopify Customers Into Creators). Products stay in sync automatically after the initial connection — new products and price changes flow through without a manual re-import.

Pro tip

If you sell on Shopify, connect it before adding products manually. Manual entries don't merge with a Shopify sync later — you'd end up with duplicates. Shopify first, manual entries only for anything Shopify doesn't cover.

Option 2: Add products manually

If you're not on Shopify, or you only want a subset of your catalog visible to creators, add products directly in Product Center. At minimum, give each product a name, image, price, and a short description — the Content Tagging Agent and AI Content Scoring Agent both use this metadata to judge product fit, so thin product data produces thin scoring.

Why this feeds everything else

  • Content Tagging Agent can only match a product mention in content to a product that exists in Product Center. Untracked products are invisible to it.
  • Storefronts are built from your product catalog — a creator's storefront is empty until there's something in Product Center for them to feature.
  • Campaigns are scoped to a product set (see Track Commerce Attribution) — you can't launch a tight, attributable campaign around a product that isn't synced.

Note

Product Center syncing doesn't retroactively fix old content. Content scored or tagged before a product existed in your catalog won't automatically be re-tagged — new activity going forward will use the fuller catalog.

Revenue, Cost, and ROAS per product

Once a product has real activity behind it, its Product/Detail page and the Product/Overview grid both show Revenue, Cost, ROAS, and Revenue per video / Cost per video — the same blended calculation used on creators and content, rolled up to everything tied to that specific product. See Understanding Revenue, Cost, and ROAS for the full formula.

Pro tip

Product-level ROAS is one of the fastest ways to catch a mismatch between what you're pushing and what's actually converting — a product getting heavy creator attention with weak ROAS is worth a pricing or positioning look, not just more content.

Next steps

With products synced, the two most valuable next moves are turning on scoring (if you haven't already) and setting up your Creator Hub so creators have somewhere to sell these products from.

Workflow playbook

Launch a creator storefront program end-to-end

From an empty Creator Hub to paying your first creator: recruit, onboard, activate a collaboration, and let Socialscale handle the payout.
