Open Settings → Field management and you'll find every field attached to your content, grouped by where it comes from. Understanding the three sources makes it obvious what's worth adding yourself versus what Socialscale already covers.
How this connects across Socialscale
The three field sources
- System — generated automatically by Socialscale: Content Quality Score, Product Fit Score, Hook Score, Brand Safety Score, Duration, Virality, Bookmarks, Comments, Views, Shares, Likes, Published on, Engagement. You can't edit these, only view and pin them.
- Ad Platform — pulled in by the Ad Agent from your connected ad accounts: Revenue, CTR, CPC, CPM, ROAS. These populate once content is matched to ad spend.
- Custom — fields you define yourself, as Text, Number, Date, or Rate types.
Note
Don't recreate a System or Ad Platform field as a Custom one. If you want a CPM column, it already exists as an Ad Platform field once the Ad Agent has matched content to ad spend — a custom "CPM" field just means you're entering that number by hand instead of getting it automatically.
When a Custom field is the right call
Custom fields are for information nothing else in Socialscale tracks — internal codes, licensing status, an editorial tag, a contract reference. From what teams actually add, the common pattern is internal workflow metadata: a License (Date) field to track usage rights expiry, a function or sub-function (Text) field for internal content categorization, or a bespoke Rate field for something like an internal quality score that isn't the same thing as the system's Content Quality Score.
Creating one
Go to Settings → Field management → New custom field, name it, and pick a type:
- Text — free-form (tags, codes, notes)
- Number — for anything numeric that isn't already tracked
- Date — deadlines, expirations, scheduled dates
- Rate — a percentage-style value
Pinning
Any field — system, ad platform, or custom — can be Pinned so it shows prominently in Content Library instead of being buried behind Details. By default, Hook Score and the ad-platform CTR/CPC/CPM are pinned out of the box; add your own custom fields to that list if your team checks them daily.
Pro tip
Keep the pinned list short. Pinning everything defeats the purpose — it's meant to be the handful of numbers your team actually glances at first, not a full export of every field you track.
