Ad Agent: connecting paid performance to your content

Pulls performance directly from your connected ad accounts and attaches it to the same content record — so organic and paid live on one timeline, not two.

Requires first

If a piece of content is also running as a paid ad, this agent is what stops that from becoming a second, disconnected record you have to manually reconcile against the first.

Ad Agent

Tracks creative performance across your ad accounts and attaches campaign results directly to your content inside Socialscale for unified cross-platform reporting.

Credit Cost: 2 / match · Matches: 200

What it connects

Once your ad accounts are connected (TikTok Ad Manager, Meta Ad Manager, Google Ad Manager — see Settings → Integrations), the Ad Agent pulls performance data directly and matches it to existing content in your library — the same piece of content a creator posted organically, not a separate ad record.

What lands on the content record

  • Ad Revenue and Ad Cost — feeding directly into Revenue, Cost, and ROAS at the content, creator, and product level
  • CTR, CPM, CPC — visible alongside organic engagement on the same post in Content Library

Pro tip

This is what makes the "organic vs. paid" comparison in Your Daily Content & Ad Performance Check-In possible — you're reading one row, not cross-referencing your ad platform's dashboard against Socialscale by hand.

When more than one ad account is connected: the per-platform breakdown

If a piece of content (or a product) is running as a paid ad on more than one connected account — say TikTok Ads and Meta Ads at the same time — the blended CTR/CPM/CPC/ROAS you see at the top of Content/Detail and Product/Detail isn't the whole picture. Both pages also break the same numbers out per platform: Spend, CTR, CPM, CPC, and ROAS for each connected account (TikTok Ads, Meta Ads, Google Ads) individually, next to the blended total.

Pro tip

The blended total at the top is the fastest read for "is this working overall" — the per-platform table below it is where you catch that one platform is quietly dragging the average down while another is outperforming it.

Note

A platform only appears in this breakdown if it's both connected under Settings → Integrations and actually running spend against that specific piece of content or product. Disconnecting a platform doesn't delete its historical numbers, but it stops contributing new ones.

Ad Agent vs. the Content Tagging Agent

These two both attach data to content, but from different directions:

  • Content Tagging Agent matches content to a product and creator — it's about what the content is
  • Ad Agent matches content to ad spend and results — it's about how the content performed as paid media

A piece of content can have one, both, or neither depending on whether it's been tagged and whether it's running as an ad — see Content Tagging Agent: how content gets matched to products for the tagging side.

Why a dash doesn't mean "not working"

A dash instead of CTR/CPM/CPC on a piece of content usually just means that content isn't running as a paid ad — expected for purely organic posts, not a sign the agent is failing (see How Content and Ad Performance Data Stays Up to Date for the fuller picture on refresh timing and troubleshooting).

Where this feeds performance-based payouts

For performance-based collaborations, the metric being tracked and paid against often overlaps with what this agent is already reconciling — keeping ad accounts connected and this agent active matters even more when payouts are tied directly to performance data flowing through it.

Track commerce attribution: from creator campaign to sale

Launch a creator campaign, manage the collaboration, and trace every sale back to the exact piece of content that drove it.
