Before you build campaigns, chase attribution, or generate AI ads, do this one thing first: turn on your AI Workforce. It's the single setup step that everything else in Socialscale — scoring, tagging, ad matching, reporting — is built on top of, which is why it belongs at the very start of your setup, not somewhere in the middle.
AI Workforce gives your team access to specialized AI operators that handle repetitive operational work across marketing, creators, and finance. Each operator manages a specific responsibility, so instead of manually tagging content or eyeballing which post drove a sale, you get that continuously in the background.

Before you start
Setup checklist
0/4 done
Step 1: Sync your product catalog first
This is the interdependency that trips teams up: the AI Workforce agents will turn on and run without a synced product catalog, but their output is noticeably weaker without one. Linking products to content is what unlocks richer AI summaries, accurate ROI tracking, and better agent performance overall — the agents need something to match content against.
Do this before you turn on scoring
If Product Center isn't synced yet, stop here and connect it first (Shopify App install, or manual product upload). Content scored before your catalog is synced won't retroactively pick up product-fit data — the Content Tagging Agent can only match against products it can already see.
Step 2: Open Settings → AI Workforce
In the app, go to Settings → AI Workforce. You'll see agents grouped by responsibility — this guide covers the Marketing group, which is what most teams configure first.
Step 3: Turn on each agent, in this order
Not all four agents matter equally on day one. Turn them on in this order so each one has something useful to work with by the time the next one runs:
- AI Content Scoring Agent — 1 credit/match. Scores every piece of content on brand safety, hook, product fit, and quality using a visual model checked against Product Center, creator briefs, and your Brand Guidelines — not just text. Turn this on first; it's your cheapest signal and every other agent benefits from content already being scored. See AI Content Scoring Agent for the full mechanism.
- Content Tagging Agent — 2 credits/match. Reviews content and assigns the correct product and creator based on what's actually shown and said, matched against your product images and descriptions. Anything it's not confident about gets routed to your team for review instead of guessed at. See Content Tagging Agent for how the matching itself works.
- Social Commerce Expert Agent — 2 credits/match. Adds summaries, transcriptions, tips, and recommendations across your content library.
- Ad Agent — 2 credits/match. Tracks creative performance across your connected ad accounts and attaches results directly to the content that drove them, for unified cross-platform reporting.
For each one, use Configure to review its settings, then flip it to Active. You'll see a live match/score counter and a "Last updated" timestamp once it starts processing your library.
Pro tip
Credit cost is per match, not a flat monthly fee — a smaller content library costs less to run. Check your Credits balance in the top bar (separate from Marketing budget — see Credits and marketing budget: two separate balances) before turning on all four at once if you're working with a large, unscored backlog.
Step 4: Verify it's actually running
Go to Content Library and confirm you're seeing:
- Score badges (brand safety / hook / product fit / quality) on recent content
- Product and creator tags appearing on content that previously had none
- A rising match count back on the AI Workforce settings page
If scores aren't appearing after a few minutes, double check that the agent shows Active (not just configured) and that there's unscored content in the library for it to process.
Who should prioritize what
Lean on the AI Content Scoring Agent daily — it tells you which content to push and which to leave in drafts before you post.
Watch credit cost against your Credits balance (a separate balance from Marketing budget), and use the Ad Agent to get cross-platform ROAS without exporting from four different ad managers.
Content Tagging Agent + a synced Product Center is your foundation for commerce attribution — prioritize both together.
Next: put this to work in a workflow
Once your AI Workforce is active and scoring content, the next step is usually a full campaign — where tagging, scoring, and ad tracking come together into a single attribution report.

Track commerce attribution: from creator campaign to sale
Launch a creator campaign, manage the collaboration, and trace every sale back to the exact piece of content that drove it.
