Import content from ad accounts and cloud storage

Beyond social links and auto-import, Content Library can pull directly from TikTok Ads and connected cloud storage — useful for content that never lived on social in the first place.

Requires first

Not everything worth tracking started as a social post. Raw creative sitting in a shared drive, or an ad that's only ever existed inside TikTok Ads Manager, needs a different import path than Auto-Track Your Social Channels covers.

The other two import paths

Content Library → Add content has four options total; this article covers the two that aren't social-link or auto-import:

Import from TikTok Ads

Pull directly from a connected TikTok ad account into Content Library.

Import from Google Drive

Browse and import images and videos directly from a connected Drive.

Import from TikTok Ads

Once your TikTok ad account is connected (see Settings → Integrations), you can pull creative directly from TikTok Ads Manager into Content Library — useful for ad variants that were built and launched entirely inside TikTok's own tools and never separately uploaded anywhere else.

Pro tip

Content imported this way still goes through the same AI Content Scoring Agent and Content Tagging Agent treatment as anything else — see Configure Your AI Workforce if you haven't set those up yet. Importing doesn't skip scoring.

Import from Google Drive

Connect Google Drive under Settings → Integrations, then browse and import images and videos directly into Content Library — the practical option for raw creative (unedited footage, design assets, a shoot's full output) that lives in your team's shared drive rather than on a social platform.

Note

OneDrive and Dropbox are listed under the same Integrations section but are marked "Coming soon" — Google Drive is the cloud storage option available today.

Why this matters for Revenue and Cost

Content imported from ads or cloud storage is measured exactly the same way as anything auto-tracked from a creator — it can carry Revenue, Cost, and ROAS once it's tagged to a product and running (see Understanding Revenue, Cost, and ROAS). An ad variant that started life in TikTok Ads Manager, once imported, sits in the same portfolio as your organic creator content — comparable on the same scale.

Pro tip

If you're building AI-generated ads (see AI Video Studio), the output doesn't automatically land in Content Library — bring it in the same way you would any other asset, whether that's a direct save or via one of these import paths, so it's covered by the same tracking.
